Hedgeley Livestock has been established to offer a livestock export service from the UK to Europe.
We aim to organize the sourcing and exporting of high quality breeding stock in to Europe, particularly Germany, Estonia, Lithuania and Latvia. All types of livestock can be sourced, however we have most experience in the cattle and sheep sectors.
Hedgeley Livestock is based at Hedgeley Farms which is located in North Northumberland, near Alnwick on the border with Scotland.
The Carr-Ellison family has owned the estate here since 1786 and currently manages 1640ha of arable, grassland and forestry.
The farm has a 1900 head North Country Mule sheep flock, a 1500 head Swaledale sheep flock and over 200 head of pedigree Galloway and Belted Galloway Cattle. Hedgeley Farms also grows Wheat, Barley and Oilseed Rape for a number of markets including specialist seed and malting barley outlets.
John Carr-Ellison has been actively involved in the management of large scale arable farming operations in Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia since 1995
Hedgeley Livestock has access to some of the best pedigree bloodlines in the UK mostly from the North of England and Scotland. We also have a vast knowledge of livestock production and management. There is a dedicated team in the office that will carry out the export of the animals for you which removes all the uncertainties of sourcing livestock from another country.
